About MarMar Copenhagen
MarMar Copenhagen is Danish childrenswear with softness, classic shapes and playful details. We design with the whole wardrobe in mind, so soft everyday favourites can be paired with seasonal colours, our leopard print or a little gold tulle. For everyday life and special occasions.
Founded in 2008 by designer Marlene Holmboe, we create clothes for children from newborn (starting at size 44 for premature babies) to 12 years. From first bodysuits to knitwear, jeans, shirts, dresses and outerwear.
Soft is a good place to start
Especially when choosing clothes for a tiny new person. How the fabric feels in your hand matters. How it feels against their skin matters even more.
Our Modal fabrics combine cotton and TENCEL™ Modal in different knitted structures. Some also contain a little elastane. From classic rib to smooth finishes and delicate pointelle, the look varies, but the softness runs throughout.
You’ll find them in bodysuits, tops, leggings and knitwear, among other pieces. Each product page lists the exact fabric composition, including the proportion of organic cotton where used.
Favourites you can find again
Once you’ve found a bodysuit with the right fit, it’s good to know where the next one is coming from. Many of our styles return season after season in new colours and prints.
Then there’s Essentials: our permanent range of basics that continues from season to season. Here you’ll find our classic Modal rib in five core colours, alongside jeans, the classic white shirt, gold tulle and soft favourites for newborns.
Some favourites are gifts before they become everyday essentials. A first bodysuit, a soft cardigan or a dress chosen for someone special.
The simple and the special
We like quiet colours, lovely textures and shapes that are easy to put together. They make getting dressed in the morning a little easier, and we’re all for that. A distinctive collar, our leopard print or a colour with a little edge gives the simple pieces personality.
A soft basic top under a dress. Jeans with a lovely shirt. Gold tulle with knitwear. Dressy clothes should feel comfortable too, and everyday favourites are welcome at the party.
We create two main collections each year, spring/summer and autumn/winter, alongside two outerwear collections, for spring and autumn, and our festive Celebration collection, which arrives every October.
Essentials is here all year. So you can build a wardrobe around familiar favourites and add pieces as the season, size or occasion changes.

By MarMar Copenhagen is our collection for women. The same love of materials, thoughtful details and simple, timeless design that can be put together in countless ways.
Selected styles and colours appear in both the children’s and women’s collections, if you fancy matching a little.

Behind MarMar is Marlene Holmboe, founder, creative director and mother of a son and twin girls.
Marlene started MarMar with the wish to create clothes you want to wear for a long time. That’s why we work with classic shapes and pay close attention to the materials, the fit and the little details. The aim is favourite clothes. The ones that go straight back on as soon as they’re washed. Sometimes even before.
