In November 2004, my twin girls were born five weeks early.
They were so tiny that all the clothes we had prepared were far too big.
At the time, there was very little clothing available for premature babies. It was an experience I carried with me when I later founded MarMar Copenhagen.
Today, we make babywear from size 44. Soft fabrics and simple designs that feel comfortable and are easy to put on and take off – even on the very smallest.
Our newborn collection includes Modal, Pointelle and seasonal prints, all available from size 44.
A Little Something
Over the years, we have donated clothing to neonatal units across Denmark. Recently, Marlene visited a neonatal unit once again, bringing MarMar clothing for some of the very smallest.
World Prematurity Day on 17 November is a good opportunity to give an extra thought to the babies who arrive a little earlier than expected – and to their families.
“The very smallest should, of course, feel soft and comfortable too – and have clothes that actually fit. That has always been important to me.”
