CARE GUIDE
Washing & Care
Wash with care – and help your clothes last longer.
A little care goes a long way in keeping your clothes looking their best for longer.
- Check the care label – it tells you the best way to wash and dry your MarMar garment.
- Prepare clothes for washing – turn garments inside out, fasten zips and buttons, and wash with similar colours.
- Treat stains straight away – the sooner, the better. Gently dab the stain with cold or lukewarm water and, if needed, use a small amount of mild washing-up liquid. Avoid rubbing, and take extra care with delicate materials such as wool and cashmere.
- Wash only when needed – sometimes a quick wipe, some fresh air or a little spot cleaning is all it takes. Favourites like our Modal have a touch of elastane to help garments keep their shape and stay looking good between washes.
Outerwear
Take good care of outerwear – and help it last longer.
Outerwear is made to handle all kinds of weather and everyday adventures. The right care helps preserve both its appearance and performance.
- Wash when needed – light marks and dirt can often simply be wiped away. When washing is needed, always follow the care label, fasten zips and buttons, and use the detergent recommended for the garment.
- Dry it correctly – some materials are best left to air dry, while down, for example, should be tumble dried to maintain the volume and even distribution of the filling.
- Maintain water repellency – over time, water-repellent outerwear may need its protective finish refreshed. Always follow the care instructions for the individual garment.
Pass It On
Good clothes deserve more than one life.
MarMar clothes are made to be worn again and again – and, ideally, by more than one child.
- Get it ready for the next wearer – wash according to the care label, remove stains and repair small holes or loose buttons.
- Store it well – make sure clothes are clean and completely dry before putting them away for the next season or the next child.
- Pass it on – once clothes have been outgrown, they can find a new life with a sibling, a friend or a completely new family.
That’s how we get more from the clothes we already have – allowing them to be worn, loved and passed on.
